KGI Capital (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., KGI Securities’ Singapore subsidiary, was the first Taiwanese-funded enterprise awarded approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2013 to engage in futures contracts, including futures options transactions, and to join the Singapore Exchange (SGX) as a Derivatives Trading and Derivatives Clearing Member.
In order to satisfy the wealth management needs of Asia-Pacific high net worth clients, KGI actively expanded its overseas subsidiaries, and acquired Ong First Tradition, a leading futures and FX broker in Singapore, in 2014 and then renamed to KGI Ong Capital to offer KGI’s clients a complete line of futures and derivatives products, including foreign exchange and securities (options on equity indices). In October 2016, KGI Ong Capital was renamed to KGI Futures (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
One year later in 2015, AmFraser Securities Pte. Ltd., a clearing member of SGX-ST, was acquired and renamed to KGI Fraser Securities Pte. Ltd. to supplement KGI with a broad range of licensed services, comprising dealing in securities, trading in futures contracts, advising on corporate finance, securities financing and providing custodial services for securities. In October 2016, KGI Fraser Securities was renamed to KGI Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
KGI Securities’ Singapore subsidiaries strengthen KGI Securities group’s regional advantages and synergies. With its expansion in Singapore, KGI Securities serves as a one-stop shop and enables clients to diversify their investment and wealth management portfolios via a complete line of equities trading, futures and FX product offerings.
