In order to heighten its presence in the global financial markets and push forward its international business expansion plans, KGI Financial Services Group founded a subsidiary in 1994 called KGI Capital Asia Limited. ¡@KGI Capital Asia is a member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and has a QFII Foreign Institutional Investor license giving it the ability to trade on Taiwan's stock market. ¡@ Through this subsidiary, KGI Financial Services Group can better provide diversified financial products and services overseas to its clients.

At the end of 1999, Hong Kong began operating its GEM board, thereby providing Taiwanese companies with another outlet for fund raising. ¡@KGI Capital Asia was proactive in obtaining an underwriting license for GEM board listings and set up a team of professionals to provide such services. ¡@ At the same time, KGI Capital Asia has developed and maintained a close relationship with other KGI Financial Services Group affiliates and with overseas investment banks in Hong Kong. ¡@This has helped strengthen KGI Financial Services Group's international underwriting business and has helped KGI Capital Asia develop a number of innovative financial derivative instruments.
