KGI Financial Holding stated that Taiwan’s equity market remained cautious in September. While the market continued to trade within a high‑level consolidation range, overall trading volume moderated from the previous month. Meanwhile, rising U.S. Treasury yields led to corrections in bond prices and increased volatility in financial asset valuations. Despite these market conditions, the core businesses of the Group’s major subsidiaries maintained resilient operating momentum and continued to provide stable profit contributions.
In banking, KGI Bank delivered solid operating performance, supported by steady growth in its deposit and loan portfolios as well as core revenue drivers, including interest income and fee income. KGI Bank reported profit after‑tax of NT$614 million in September. Cumulative profit after‑tax for the first three quarters reached NT$5.269 billion, while cumulative pre‑provision profit totaled NT$7.582 billion, representing 15% YOY growth. Wealth management continued to demonstrate strong growth momentum, with wealth management fee income increasing by more than 30% YOY compared with the same period last year.
In securities, market volatility in September narrowed opportunities for proprietary trading, while trading volume in Taiwan’s equity market also declined from the previous month. As a result, KGI Securities reported profit after‑tax of NT$1.473 billion for the month. Nevertheless, its core businesses demonstrated strong operating momentum during the first three quarters. Taiwan brokerage business maintained the second‑largest market share in the industry. Through continued expansion of its Asia‑Pacific wealth management business, wealth management revenues in both Taiwan and Hong Kong reached new highs, with cumulative wealth management fee income increasing 50% YOY in Taiwan and more than doubling YOY in Hong Kong. KGI Securities also maintained its No. 1 industry ranking in lead underwriting by total deal value. Supported by a robust pipeline of quality mandates, underwriting fee income increased by more than 60% YOY compared with the same period last year. Driven by strong performance across its business lines, KGI Securities reported cumulative profit after‑tax of NT$24.226 billion for the first three quarters, setting another record high for the period and representing a 197% YOY increase. Its annualized return on equity exceeded 40%, outperforming industry peers.
In life insurance, KGI Life maintained strong momentum in new business growth in September, with new contract premium income reaching NT$16.5 billion, up 188% YOY and marking the highest monthly level in nearly five years. Cumulative new contract premium income for the first nine months totaled NT$107.9 billion, representing 105% YOY growth. Among product lines, investment‑linked new contract premium income reached NT$8.2 billion in September, up 350% YOY, while cumulative investment‑linked new contract premium income for the first nine months totaled NT$56.1 billion, an increase of 450% YOY. Traditional products also delivered outstanding performance, with September premiums from traditional foreign‑currency policies and participating policies increasing 189% YOY and 1,839% YOY, respectively. Cumulative premiums from traditional foreign‑currency policies and participating policies for the first nine months rose 66% YOY and 1,146% YOY, respectively, reflecting continued improvement in overall sales momentum.
On the investment and earnings side, amid market fluctuations and changes in investment portfolio valuations, KGI Life continued to prudently capture market opportunities and realize capital gains at appropriate times. Profit after‑tax for September reached NT$799 million. Including after‑tax FVOCI stock disposal gains of approximately NT$4.69 billion, the total contribution to retained earnings for the month amounted to NT$5.489 billion. For the first three quarters, cumulative profit after‑tax reached NT$13.451 billion. Including FVOCI stock disposal gains of approximately NT$54.407 billion, the total contribution to retained earnings amounted to NT$67.859 billion.
KGI Financial Holding noted that although September earnings were affected by market interest rate volatility, the core business momentum of its subsidiaries remained strong. Key business indicators, including wealth management at KGI Bank, underwriting and wealth management at KGI Securities, and new contract premium income at KGI Life, all continued to outperform the same period last year. As a result, cumulative profit after‑tax, earnings per share (EPS), and contribution to retained earnings for the first three quarters all reached record highs for the period.
Looking ahead, KGI Financial Holding will continue to focus on three key pillars: maintaining a prudent dividend policy, optimizing its financial structure, and deepening the ONE KGI strategy. Through these initiatives, the Group aims to strengthen its core competitive advantages, build diversified growth engines, and further enhance overall profitability and shareholder value.
