Press Release

KGI Financial Holding Co., Ltd. ("KGI Financial") today (1st) announced a landmark milestone in its digital asset innovation roadmap. Building upon the successful launch of a pilot virtual asset custody service by its subsidiary, KGI Bank, in February 2026, KGI Asia, a Hong Kong-based subsidiary of KGI Securities, has entered into a strategic partnership with DigiFT—a premier regulated exchange for Hong Kong On-Chain Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization—to introduce kTW50, an on-chain token issued by DigiFT.

Representing the world’s first on-chain RWA token linked to a Taiwan equity ETF (underlying: KGI Taiwan TOP 50 ETF), this deployment significantly elevates the global profile of Taiwan equities across decentralized capital markets while reinforcing KGI Financial’s premier position at the intersection of traditional finance (TradFi) and Web3 infrastructure.

Taiwan’s benchmark equity index achieved an unprecedented record of 48,218 points this year, elevating the position to the world’s fifth-largest equity market by capitalization. Taiwan ETFs (excluding leveraged and inverse products) have served as a critical growth engine; as of August 28, the number of beneficiaries surpassed 17 million, with total assets under management (AUM) exceeding USD 220 billion. This trajectory demonstrates that Taiwan’s strategic economic footprint has extended beyond semiconductor and AI supply chains into deep, liquid capital markets. KGI Financial projects that Taiwan is executing a decisive macroeconomic transition from a "Technology Hub" to a "Global Capital Hub," positioned to capture multi-year capital inflows driven by sustained AI transformation. The kTW50 token is engineered to serve as an institutional vanguard for equity tokenization, drawing sophisticated on-chain Web3 capital allocators and facilitating net-new liquidity into Taiwan’s capital markets.

"Taiwan stands as the indispensable nexus of the global AI ecosystem, anchored by competitive moats across advanced semiconductor manufacturing and AI infrastructure," said Wayne Hsu, Executive Vice President at KGI Financial. "The KGI Taiwan TOP 50 ETF (009816) consolidates Taiwan's flagship market leaders, providing investors a unique channel to participate in the long-term growth opportunities arising from AI-related industries. a regulated route to growth exposure to the secular AI cycle. KGI Financial remains committed to architecting the conduit between established capital market architecture and tokenized finance. We are convinced that RWA tokenization delivers structural enhancements to accessibility, market efficiency, and liquidity settlement. Our collaboration with DigiFT on the kTW50 initiative equips qualified offshore investors with a robust, compliant on-chain instrument, accelerating the structural convergence of traditional and decentralized financial systems."

Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO of DigiFT, said: “Every mature market is built in layers — cash, income and growth. On-chain finance has had the first two for years. kTW50 adds the third: a regulated route to growth exposure, sitting alongside the cash and yield instruments already there. This is how institutional portfolios have always been built, and it's how on-chain portfolios will be too.”

As a leader in digital asset financial engineering, KGI Financial will continue to monitor developments in Web3 and tokenized asset ecosystems, bridging legacy balance sheets with next-generation rails to unlock long-term enterprise value for global investors.
