Press Release

Leveraging more than 65 years of investment experience, CDIB Capital Group ("CDIB Capital") has emerged as a key force in connecting Taiwan's fintech industry with global innovation ecosystems. Through a dual-engine strategy centered on capital deployment and ecosystem connectivity, CDIB Capital plays a leading execution role within the FinTech Investment Working Group of the Taiwan FinTech Alliance, chaired by KGI Financial Holding. The initiative seeks to enhance Taiwan's global visibility through investments in world-class venture capital funds while fostering deeper connections between Taiwanese startups and international innovation networks.
On the ecosystem front, CDIB Capital has continued to collaborate with FinTechSpace to create meaningful engagement opportunities between Taiwanese startups and international investors through initiatives such as the Investor Office Hours program. One notable example was the 2026 Taiwan Global Venture Forum, held on July 16 at the CDIB Innovation Accelerator.

Hosted by Assistant Professor Yina Wu's research team from National Taipei University, the forum also marked the release of the 2026 Taiwan Startup International Expansion Survey. The report found that approximately 70% of Taiwanese startups have successfully established and maintained overseas operations, with Japan emerging as the most important target market. In addition, nearly 90% of surveyed venture capital firms have already established international investment activities, with the United States identified as their most significant investment hub.

These findings closely align with CDIB Capital's international expansion strategy. The firm has established official offices in Tokyo and Fukuoka, strengthening connections with Japan's innovation ecosystem, while actively cultivating relationships within Silicon Valley's venture capital and technology communities. Together, these efforts aim to create stronger pathways for Taiwanese startups seeking growth opportunities in Japan, the United States, and other key international markets.

The capital component of CDIB Capital's strategy centers on the establishment of a Taiwan Innovation Technology Fund of Funds, targeting NT$6–7.5 billion in commitments. The fund will focus on high-performing venture capital funds with proven track records across sectors including artificial intelligence and financial technology. By providing diversified exposure to high-growth technologies and global markets, the fund seeks to offer attractive risk-adjusted returns while expanding international investment opportunities and grabbing Cutting-edge trends for Taiwanese institutional investors and supporting the long-term development of Taiwan's innovation economy.

CDIB Capital President Melanie Nan said: "At CDIB Capital, we aspire to be a trusted partner accompanying Taiwanese innovators on their global journey. This Fund of Funds is more than a capital vehicle; it is a bridge connecting leading global venture capital firms and innovation networks with Taiwan's supply chain, financial institutions, and startup ecosystem. Designed with robust diversification and broad exposure to cross-border FinTech and AI innovation, the Innovation Technology Fund of Funds not only helps Taiwanese fintech startups navigate fundraising and international expansion, but also provides investors with a diversified gateway to emerging investment opportunities and industry trends shaping the future of FinTech and AI."

Ryan Kuo, President of CCIA noted that Taiwanese startups already possess world-class technology and resilience. The key challenge is establishing long-term connections with global capital, markets, and talent. “Through our accelerator platform and international forums, we bring leading venture capital investors to Taiwan while helping local founders expand into major innovation hubs such as Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Silicon Valley. By advancing both capital formation and ecosystem connectivity, we hope to create a sustainable pathway for Taiwanese startups to compete and thrive globally."
The Taiwan FinTech Alliance was established in early 2025 to accelerate innovation and strengthen Taiwan's competitiveness in financial technology. As convener of the FinTech Investment and Exchange Working Group, KGI Financial Holding, together with CDIB Capital, continues to advance initiatives that foster international collaboration, investment connectivity, and innovation-driven growth.

Looking ahead, CDIB Capital will continue fundraising efforts for the Taiwan Innovation Technology Fund-of-Funds throughout the second half of 2026 while deepening international partnerships through key events including FinTech Taipei and RAMEN Tech Fukuoka. By advancing both capital deployment and ecosystem connectivity, CDIB Capital aims to build a sustainable cycle of connecting Taiwan with global innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening the long-term competitiveness of Taiwan's fintech ecosystem.
